Well I decided to brave the cold and the snow conditions and went for a run in the snow through the woods. Man alive it was beautiful the ground was really crunchy and crisp and had amazing grip with the old Salomon Speed Cross 2 on my feet. I basically started off the same as the Hoot Route but diverted onto different paths. At one point I got really quite lost and ended up cutting across 'open' land. Should have realised that snow makes everything flat! one minute was standing on a fallen tree and next step knee deep in snow but I got through with a massive smile on my face - loved it.
2 lessons were learnt on this trip. If you want to wear clothes to make sure you are seen - don't wear white! and make sure your watch is set to auto start stop so when you stop to check which way you don't automatically press stop and then forget to press start again for at least 10 minutes.
All in all it was fantastic, quiet, peaceful and very exhilarating.
Ran for about 50 mins in total

Lovely pic. Very envious. Think I've banished the disease from my body now so will write off week 2 and getting cracking this week, even if it is Christmas week.
ReplyDeleteWell done matey - sounds like that achilles is holding out well.
